A former police station in Barking has been turned into a nail bar and beauty salon.

The ex-police station in Ripple Road, more recently an estate agents, has been undergoing works for the past five months to transform the ground floor into the new space.

A planning application for the change of use was submitted by Barker Parry Town Planning Ltd, and it was approved by Barking and Dagenham Council in November.

The nail and beauty salon was set to open its doors to customers in Barking town centre today (April 22).

The venue is set to have two beauty rooms, four nail stations, four pedicure stations and a cocktail bar.

The bar will be available to customers of the salon only, and will operate between 9am and 9pm Monday to Sunday.
