Barking and Dagenham College music student wins talent show

A singer who studied music at Barking and Dagenham College has been crowned winner of a London talent show.
Emmanuel Nwamadi, 21, completed a Btec extended diploma in music at the college in Dagenham Road.
He won the Show Me Wot You Got competition organised by 14 London colleges last month.
Nadim Mea, learner involvement coordinator at Barking and Dagenham College, said: “We are very proud of Emmanuel. He has found lots of work at schools and colleges and secured more gigs as a result.”
His tutors and friends told him that he had a great singing voice, so he entered the Barking and Dagenham College talent show earlier this year and gained a place in the London finals.
The Forest Gate singer and accompanying guitarist Tony Newberry competed against other London colleges in the final at the Shaw Theatre in King’s Cross on July 13.
