Dagenham Park School is celebrating after pupils received the school’s best ever A-Level grades. Assistant head Jacqueline Mcleod said she was “extremely excited” about the results.
“Students have done well across the board, meeting their target grades. Many of them will be going to university, including Russell Group universities [the top 20 in the country.]”
“We want to say well done to all the pupils - they’ve done extremely well and we are really proud of them.”
Gasthuree Sivapathasundaram, 18, is off to Bradford University next month to study optometry.
She said she was both pleased and disappointed with her results: “I got As in maths and French which I’m pleased with, but I would have liked to have done better in chemistry and biology. But I’m really happy that I got into uni.”
Mohammad Akhond, 18, picked up an A in maths, a B in physics and was still waiting for his result in further maths when he spoke to the Post.
He said: “I know I’ve got into Kings College to study physics so I’m pleased with that. I was really worried I wouldn’t, so it’s a massive relief.”
Firefighters used a stretcher to remove a woman from a Dagenham flat piled high with clutter during a seven-hour rescue operation.
