Fire tears through two Chadwell Heath homes

A fire ripped through the roof of a Chadwell Heath home and damaged around 10 percent of a neighbouring house last night (September 25).

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to reports of a fire at two addresses in Havering Gardens at 9.32pm.

The blaze damaged 50pc of the ground floor of one semi-detached property as well tearing through its roof.

It also burned through 10pc of a neighbouring property.

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended from stations including Dagenham, Romford, Wennington and Ilford.

All eight residents of the properties evacuated before firefighters arrived.

The blaze was brought under control by 11.25pm.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
