Dispute over parking
Police are appealing for information after a civil enforcement officer was assaulted in Tenterden High Street.
It is alleged that a van driver verbally abused, pushed and spat in the 50-year-old officer’s face, during a dispute over parking near the HSBC bank.
A 20-year-old man from the Ashford area has been interviewed in connection with the incident which took place on July 4 at around 12.15pm.
PC Andrew Dale said: “The area was busy at the time and it is believed that several people walked past during the altercation - I would be grateful if they would contact me as they may have information that can assist the investigation.”
