The Met confirmed that they utilised the helicopter as a warrant was put out, but it soon left the area.

A Tweet on @MPSinthesky, the force helicopter’s official Twitter page, stated just after 10am: “The aircraft has just deployed to the Goresbrook Road area of Dagenham to assist ground units searching for a suspect.”

A spokeswoman for Barking and Dagenham Police said: “This was an unsuccessful search for a burglary suspect. Officer have been stood down now.”
