Three charged, 178 bailed, after cycling procession near Olympic Park

Three people have been charged following the arrests of 182 people on suspicion of breaching conditions imposed under the Public Order Act.

The group were arrested on Friday evening on suspicion of breaching conditions imposed by police and of causing a public nuisance.

Three people have been charged, while 178 have been bailed pending further enquiries.

A 29-year-old man remains in custody having been further arrested for failing to appear at court in connection with an unrelated offence.

The three charged are Pedro Lima, 35, a Portuguese national of Windmill Road, Brentford. He was charged with causing a public nuisance and failing to comply with conditions under the Public Order Act.

Dario Stefano Malaterra, 34, an unemployed Italian national of no fixed abode was charged with possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, causing a public nuisance and failing to comply with conditions under the Public Order Act. He is due to appear at court tomorrow (Monday).

Andrew Bayne, 51, of Bradstock Road, E9, was charged with assaulting a constable in the execution of his/her duty. He will appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 10.
