Fire damaged almost half the flat

Two men escaped a fire at a flat in Barking which left almost half the property damaged.
Three pumps were called to the blaze in a terraced house flat Victoria Road, at 2pm on Wednesday.
Two men, aged 20 and 23, escaped the fire before crews arrived. No-one was hurt.
The fire and smoke, which was brought under control within around 20 minutes, damaged around 40 per cent of the flat.
The cause is under investigation.
Firefighters used a stretcher to remove a woman from a Dagenham flat piled high with clutter during a seven-hour rescue operation.
