Things just keep getting better for everyone’s favourite local model after she won her biggest competition to date.

Dagenham-born Sarah Rich, 27, is the new Top Model UK over-25s champion after putting in a “faultless performance” during finals at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel.

The former St Vincent’s Primary pupil, who only began her modelling adventure in August last year, said her emotions were “indescribable” following the result.

“Where do I even begin?” she wrote on her Facebook page after her victory earlier this month.

“All the hard work, effort and determination has finally paid off, I’ve proved it to myself and everyone else that if you want something bad enough and work your socks off then you achieve it.”

More than 4,000 people entered the competition this year, with 170 finalists fighting it out in the big beauty battle.

But the pageant was not merely catwalks and couture – there was also charity.

Organisers reported raising a “magnificent” £35,000 for Children with Cancer UK.
