A single parent from Dagenham has said they “haven’t slept a wink” since scooping £1.6 million on an online bingo game - from a stake of just 40p.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, scooped the win from a spontaneous online game.

Having been a Mecco Bingo member for some years, it’s not the first win they’ve experienced - but it’s by far the biggest.

The player said: “You hear about others winning this kind of money in the news but you never think it could happen to you.

“I’m a single parent to five children and this incredible amount of money is certainly going improve my life, but more importantly theirs!”

The winner hopes to buy a new home as well as taking the family on several dream holidays.

Caroline Webb from Mecca Bingo added: “We hope the winner has a successful house hunt and enjoys the fruits of their new-found millionaire lifestyle with their family!”
