Pioneering pupils at All Saints Catholic School are pushing for a 3D printing lab as part of a competition organised by XYZPrinting.

They’re up against 17 other UK schools competing to create designs such as robots and replicas with a loan printer.

The school’s head of design, Andrew Cornwell, praised pupils’ efforts.

“There’s so much creative talent and potential among our pupils, and this is the perfect opportunity for them to explore the world of 3D printing and add this key skill to their repertoire.”

The competition closed on Friday, with the winner yet to be announced.
