A man has been airlifted to hospital after his arm was caught in machinery at a recycling centre in Barking.
Fire crews were called to River Road, at 2.50pm today to free the man, who is thought to be a cleaner aged around 25.
He suffered arm and shoulder injuries and was taken to Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel by air ambulance.
It took the fire service around 30 minutes to free the man using special cutting equipment and ropes.
It is believed he was five metres off the ground when the accident happened.
Teenagers were forced to flee from their beds after their family car erupted in flames which licked at the front of their home following a suspected arson attack.
