Police are appealing for information after a man in his late 30s caused £6,000 worth of damage to a Chadwell Heath bookmakers by smashing up two of the gambling machines.

Officers were called to the High Road Betfred at about 1pm on Wednesday, October 14, after the suspect began rocking the machine he was playing on – angry he could not recover his losses.

When it did not dispense his cash, he picked up a nearby stool from the shop floor and smashed it on both the machine he was playing on and the one adjacent to it, before walking out the shop and down the road.

He is described as a white man, about 5ft 6in and was wearing a grey blazer with black patches on the elbow and blue jeans.

Anyone with any information, or who reognises the man, should contact police on 101.
