Residents of all ages got together to celebrate their area on Saturday as part of a fun day.
Volunteer police cadets, Scouts and arts and crafts enthusiasts took to Marks Gate Junior School in Rose Lane, Chadwell Heath, in the afternoon.
There were games, refreshments, Zumba taster sessions, useful information stalls and other entertainment for the whole family.
Ward councillors were also on hand to offer advice and information. Performances came from a variety of bands, football clubs and staff from the borough’s Youth Bus were also on site.
Community group Agenda 21 teamed up with the junior school to run the annual festivities.
Firefighters used a stretcher to remove a woman from a Dagenham flat piled high with clutter during a seven-hour rescue operation.
