Dagenham Town Show went out with a bang as major acts gave thumping performances in glorious sunshine for the last time.
About 20,000 people turned up, including nearly 7,000 to watch dance group Diversity carry the Olympic Flame onto the stage in what became the defining moment of the 60th show.
The Britain’s Got Talent winners from Dagenham received a rapturous welcome as they kicked off the Sunday leg of the festival, though the Central Park show was not just about the Olympic year but also celebrated an institution which has now become the latest casualty of the recession.

In a rather fairytale fashion, Alyson and Tarush Agrawal set eyes on each other in Tarush’s native India where Alyson was working, they clicked immediately, and before long were very much in love.
