The video for a charity single is being recorded this week by D-Saro and 4FrontRecords to help raise funds for a young boy diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia.

Micky Bennett, 11, formerly of Harrold Road, Dagenham, was diagnosed with T-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, a rarer form of leukaemia and is currently receiving chemotherapy at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

Mum Lisa Bennett, 36, and dad David Bennett,40, as well as sisters Chantelle, 23, Kharis, 17, and Rosslyn, 16, have made a public appeal for help.

The family believe Micky needs ‘Car T treatment’ and so are raising awareness and funds to help aid his treatment.

Musician D-Saro praised Micky’s bravery and said: “Micky is an amazing inspirational kid, I am humbled to be part of his journey.”

Their appeals for help did not go unnoticed, with musician D-SARO and 4FrontRecords producing the single “Fight Like Micky”, the music video which is due out in October.

All funds raised from the single will go towards raising awareness about Micky’s condition and for treatment.

Lisa Bennett praised Micky’s bravery and resilience, saying that the family have been blown away by all the offers of help and support he has received.

She said: “This came as a massive shock to all of us.

“Only weeks earlier, Micky was celebrating his successes at the British Minibike Championships, attaining second position in the races for the UK title.”

There has been no shortage of well wishers for Micky including a visit from the rapper Stormzy as well as signed merchandise from Tottehnham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane.

Ms Bennett praised the work being done by D-SARO, she said: “What D-Saro has done is amazing, he has given up so much of his own time to support Micky.”

She also praised the work done by the local community of Barking and Dagenham since learning about Micky’s plight.

The mother of four said: “The support has been phenomenal, the response from the public has been amazing.

“The Barking and Dagenham community spirit is unreal.”

She also added: “I don’t think there is enough awareness at all about leukaemia that affects children, everything I’ve seen is about adults, not children.”

Ms Bennett is keen to highlight the effect of leukaemia on children.
