Chadwell Heath rapper Guvna B is joining forces with the Post on our Choose Your Future campaign by becoming official spokesman and lending his voice to the youth of Barking and Dagenham.
In the coming months, he will be sharing his thoughts about issues affecting young people in the borough with readers.
As part of the campaign, we will organise an interactive dialogue in which readers can get involved. For more details, watch this space.
Gospel artist Guvna B has pledged to support the Post’s campaign to help and celebrate the lives of young people.
The 22-year-old – real name Isaac Borquaye – grew up in Chadwell Heath.
He has been vocal about the challenges faced by young people, particularly in the aftermath of the London Riots.
He said this week: “I’m really excited to be part of this fantastic campaign.
“I’ve grown up in Chadwell Heath and to see a collective of people come together to make a positive impact in society is a great thing to be involved in.
“Choose Your Future is a slogan I live my life by. I believe that the best way to predict your future is to invent it.
“Our thoughts determine our actions and hard work pays off.
“If we can get the people in our community to think more positively and have a strong work ethic, there’s nothing that we can’t achieve.
On the campaign, he added: “I want to see young people pick up a paper and get involved in a project that they’re interested in – they need to be the first ones to do something positive.
“By getting people together you can create something big, something good and a sense of belonging. Hopefully we can have an effect on the violence and crime in our community.
