Transfer news: Sao Paulo want Denilson to return on loan
Brazilian club Sao Paulo would like to see Arsenal midfielder, Denilson, return on loan but the Gunners would prefer a permanent deal.
The 24-year-old is on his way out of the Emirates but the north Londoners are asking for £4million – a fee the Brazilian side could not afford but a loan move is not out of the question.
“Arsenal’s staff want him to return but we are waiting for [director of football] Adalberto Baptista to have talks with them,” Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes told Globo Esporte.
“Maybe we will manage to extend the loan for six more months or even another year.
“They liked his performances, they liked Denilson’s development. That’s why they want him to return.”
Brazil striker Neymar was tonight reported to have chosen to join Barcelona this summer.
