Arsenal’s new signing Olivier Giroud has revealed that he turned down a move to German side, Bayern Munich.

The Frenchman revealed that he had turned down Chelsea soon after signing for the north Londoners and has now claimed that it would have been difficult to work with Mario Gomez at Bayern.

“Bayern were at one point interested,” Giroud said.

“But with [Mario] Gomez, it would have been difficult for us to both play as we have somewhat similar styles and physique.”
