Transfer news: Benik Afobe has joined the Trotters
Arsenal youngster Benik Afobe has joined recently relegated Bolton on a season-long loan deal.
The 19-year-old has signed a contract extension after returning from the Gunners’ tour of Asia.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle said: “Benik is a very exciting addition to our squad for this season and once again we would like to thank Arsenal and Arsene Wenger for agreeing to the loan.
“He’s only 19 years old and you can see already that he is going to be a very good player. He has an eye for goal, is an athletic striker and there is much more to come from him.”
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has played down suggestions he wants Rafael Benitez to be the club’s new head coach and claimed the delegation that visited England yesterday was hoping to secure an exchange deal with Manchester City for Edinson Cavani.
