Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta says Arsenal’s Alex Song has the quality to succeed at Camp Nou, amid speculation surrounding the Cameroon international’s future.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in bolstering their midfield with the signing of 24-year-old Song.

And Iniesta becomes the second Barcelona player to praise Song’s talents in recent days, following Sergio Busquets last week.

“I know Song from seeing him play, and from playing against him,” said Iniesta.

“Technically he is a very good player and is also very strong physically too.

“If he comes it would be because he has the qualities to play here, there is little doubt about that, and we’d welcome him.”

Arsenal are reportedly keen to hold on to Song, however, who impressed in the heart of the Gunners’ midfield last season.
