Transfer news: Gerard Pique would love Arsenal’s Alex Song to join Barcelona
Gerard Pique has joined Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta in saying he would welcome Arsenal’s Alex Song to Camp Nou.
Barcelona have been strongly linked with a move for the 24-year-old Cameroon international as new manager Tito Vilanova looks to strengthen the Catalan giants.
And former Manchester United man Pique says he would welcome Song with open arms and thinks he could be a hit at Barcelona.
“We are open to his arrival,” the 25-year-old told Mundo Deportivo.
“If he comes, and from what I have read he could do, we would love to have him.
“I have followed his career and he has become a very good player,” he continued.
“He is physically very strong and is good with the ball at his feet.”
Transfer news: Scout and former sporting director of French club Monaco Tor-Kristian Karlsen has claimed that Liverpool are set to pip Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United to the signing of Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos.
