Athletics: Dagenham 88s hail great Grange

Dagenham 88 Runners Paul Grange won the Harold Wood 5 in a new course record on Sunday.
Grange clocked 27 minutes 58 seconds to come home in first place, with clubmates Leigh Moring (48.49), Jacqui Elliott (59.45) and Lee Davis also in action.
Lynne Northcott finished the Velopark 10k in 66.57, as Jo Smith covered a 10-mile distance in 1:59.57.
And Jamie Smith clocked a fine 46.06 at the Southend 10k as members also tackled various parkrun events.
Ryder Islam (24.11) was first member home at Valentines, ahead of Manji Gami (25.58), Rahana Islam (26.04), Nils Hollmann (27.52), Timi Veerasamy (28.06), Hannah Sheikh (28.51), Emma Dudman (28.52), Sonya Veerasamy (34.13) and Julie Dalphinis (48.40).
At Raphael, Peter Salmon clocked 20.27 to finish ahead of Gary Cardnell (25.02), Paul Prior (25.02), Rosina Salmon (29.07) and Jacqui Elliott (35.32), while Ayla Altunbicak (35.11) and Caron Altunbicak (43.07) took on Barking.
John Phillips (21.20) and Thomas Dudman (22.43) were in action at Harrow Lodge, as Mick Brown clocked 21.23 at Maldon and Caroline Tuck 22.36 at Bury St Edmunds.
Caroline Cummins (39.19) and husband Ian (39.24) ran the Evesham parkrun, while Vennisa Chowdhury (29.18) and Louise Chappell (26.48) were at Coventry and Minehead respectively.
Ryder Islam was third at the Barking & Dagenham junior parkrun in Central Park in 8.39, with Ayla Altunbicak clocking 11.35.
