Athletics: Dagenham 88s members have plenty of Bank Holiday fun

Dagenham 88s enjoyed themselves over the Bank Holiday weekend, with members travelling far and wide for events.

Sonya Veerasamy travelled to France for the Vichy Irongirl 5k, wich she completed in 31 minutes and 44 seconds while supporting Ironman friends.

Ian and Caroline Cummins, meanwhile, took part in the East Farm Frolic in Dorset, completing 30 miles and 20 miles respectively.

Closer to home, Ryder Islam was the first club member home at the Valentines parkrun in 24.41, with Manji Gami (24.47), Paul Eagles (26.22), Rahanna Islam (27.38) and Nils Hollman (28.23) also in action.

Luke Summers was the quickest Dagenham 88s athlete at the Raphael event, clocking 28.14 to finish ahead of Rosina Salmon (28.32), Vicky Woodhouse (29.01), and Charlotte Banks (30.38).

Caroline Tuck completed the Bury St Edmunds race in 21.40, while Jacqui Elliott clocked 37.29 in Clacton.

Ryder Islam also won the latest Barking & Dagenham junior parkrun in 8.29, with Eddie De Souza (8.39) second and Sam Gibbons (8.53) third.
