Barking & Dagenham based Leftley Sports Club have launched women’s cardio sessions which will take place on a weekly basis.

The first group went out on Saturday morning and activities involved brisk walking, running and jogging all within a social atmosphere.

The newly formed group will meet every Saturday at the Claire Gardens entrance to Mayesbrook Park.

“We have had a very enjoyable first day and hope to inspire many of our local ladies to join our weekly activities,” said Noor Jahan.

“Our emphasis is on fun and fitness and we hope this can become a platform to inspire many females to implement sports and health activities into their lives.”

Leftley Sports Club chairman Muhammed Ali added: “We are confident the ladies group can be as successful as the mens group. Health is vital to our general well being and I would like to thank our volunteers for setting up and delivering the session.”
