Swinburne takes the lead in ELVIS meeting in Epping Forest
Nigel Swinburne led the way for Dagenham 88 Runners in the fifth race of the ELVIS series.
The team took to the hilly course in Epping Forest for the Orion five-mile race and, despite the wet conditions, Swinburne was the first Dagenham 88 Runner home in 21st spot in 32 minutes and 30 seconds.
Next across the line was Gary Cardnell in 51st position clocking 36.01 and he was swiftly followed by Ian Cummins in 55th in a time of 36.22.
Steve Ray was in 77th position clocking 37.36, while Amanda Heslegrave was 127th in 41.20 and Jenny Akroyd 131st in 41.42.
Martin O’Toole crossed the line in 136th position recording 42.08, while Michael Pegnall was in 141st position in 42.22 and Tracy Hayes was 152nd in 43.40.
John Power stopped the clock in 47.08 for 169th as Tracy Oliver finished one place further back in the same time.
Timi Veerasamy was 178th in 48.47 and Caroline Cummins took 182nd spot in 49.36.
Stephen Easley was 188th in 52.01 and Sam Veerasamy finished 197th in 55.12.
At Saturday’s Barking Park 5km parkrun series Dagenham 88s were represented by six members.
Alan Potter was first home finishing in 10th place in a time of 24.10 and he was swiftly followed by Laura Peskett in 13th position clocking 26.09.
Wendy Saunders was a place further back in 14th in a time of 26.12, while Deborah Veysi came home in 27th position with a time of 34.18.
Kate McNerlin finished 32nd with 39.13 and Julie Wilkins took 33rd spot with 40.03.
Brazil striker Neymar was tonight reported to have chosen to join Barcelona this summer.
