Barking Boxing club held a show at Chigwell’s Prince Regent Hotel on Saturday, hosted by former world champion Colin McMillan.

Juniors Ernie Billius and Rojs Dinsherg impressed trainer Glenn Wybrow in skills contests, as Luan and Luca Veras also competed.

Luan fought at long range against Cheshunt’s Ren Bullen, taking instructions from trainers Nigel Rowlands and Dino Farrelland to earn a unanimous points win for his third successive victory.

Brother Luca was making his boxing debut and had a hard fight against Cheshunt’s Harry Thompson, just losing out in a close verdict as former stars Herol Graham, Julius Francis and Derrick Williams looked on.

“Overall it was an exciting night of boxing and we were very happy with all the support from all clubs that attended,” said spokesman Kul Singh.

“The crowd was also great, cheering on our young boxers who produced a show to remember.”
