Transfer news: Benfica will not let Axel Witsel leave
Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid target Axel Witsel will not leave the club according to Benfica director of football, Rui Costa.
The Belgium international has excelled in the Portuguese league, helping his side to the Champions League quarter finals, where they were beaten by the Blues.
“Witsel plays for Benfica,” Costa is quoted as saying by Record.
“He is doing pre-season training, and we look forward to the Eusebio Cup (a pre-season tournament) - not the transfer market.
“Logically, all who are in training are Benfica players.”
