Transfer news: Eden Hazard thinks Chelsea can win more trophies this season
Eden Hazard is delighted to have joined Chelsea and is aiming to win silverware in his debut season in the Premier League.
The Belgium international, a £35million recruit from Ligue 1 side Lille, says the Blues’ trophy-winning exploits last season were enough to convince him to join.
“I wanted to join Chelsea because it is a big club,” Hazard told Four Four Two. “They won the Champions League. I want to be part of that.”
“[Joining Chelsea] has been a great experience. This is a wonderful club and I want to do well with them. There is so much we can do. I think we can win a lot this season.”
The 21-year-old will face stiff competition for places in Chelsea’s packed midfield, but he is hoping his versatility will secure him a place in the side.
“I can play in the middle as an attacking midfielder or on the wings. I will play wherever the manager plays me.”
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has played down suggestions he wants Rafael Benitez to be the club’s new head coach and claimed the delegation that visited England yesterday was hoping to secure an exchange deal with Manchester City for Edinson Cavani.
