Dagenham & Redbridge have today completed the signing of 18-year-old goalkeeper Jordan Seabright on a one-year contract with the option of a further year.

Seabright who has been on trial with the Daggers over the summer was released by AFC Bournemouth following a change of management which saw the youngster fall out of the first team picture.

Prior to the arrival of Paul Groves Jordan was the third choice keeper at the Cherries and looked set for a good career in the game.

His professional career started at hometown Poole Town FC before moving to Bournemouth and Daggers boss John Still thinks he certainly has a good future in the game.

“He’s a young boy who we’ve had in for a short while during pre-season, as I say, he’s only young but we’ve got to be looking for the next Chris Lewington.

“Chris came in when he was a young boy behind Tony (Roberts) and is now on his way to establishing himself.

“We were quite impressed when Jordan came in and we’re hoping that he can push Chris and give him a bit of stronger competition.

“Jordan will wear squad number 30 and has been registered in time for tomorrow’s opening day trip to Cheltenham.”
