Wale Odedoyun’s fourth goal of the season allowed Barking to take the Essex Senior League derby bragging right at Cricklefields Stadium.

Odedoyun headed home five minutes before the break to earn Mick O’Shea’s men the points, to take them six ahead of Bowers in second place.

But Haringey’s win at Newham ended their faint title hopes and Blues will now turn their attentions to their Gordon Brasted Trophy semi-final against Takeley at Mayesbrook Park on Thursday.

Ilford have now gone five games without finding the net and dropped to ninth place in the table.

They visit Takeley on Tuesday and Foxes boss Allan Fenn said: “Disappointed with the result, but a big improvement than in recent weeks. Decent crowd too. Future’s bright.”

Barking: J Willis, Turner, S Willis, Golby, Taylor, Staunton (Creed 50), Clayton, O’Brien, Killingback (Mtyanda 73), Odedoyun, Jeffes (Barlow 65). Unused sub: Reynolds.

Greenhouse 1 Clapton 4

A devastating first-half performance set Tons up for the points at Coles Park.

Warren Mfula opened the scoring from the penalty spot, before Shomari Barnwell added a second.

Jojo Decrafi made it 3-0 and Mfula grabbed his second before the break to leave the visitors firmly on top.

The home side hit back nine minutes from time, but it was only a consolation as Tons moved up to eighth.

They now turn their attentions to the Gordon Brasted Trophy semi-final tie with Haringey Borough on Thursday.

London Bari 2 Stansted 2

Honours finished even at the Old Spotted Dog after an entertaining encounter.

All four goals came in the first half, with Junior Decker giving Bari a sixth-minute lead.

Chris Moule and Callum Turner were on target for the Airportmen five minutes apart to turn things around, but Tony Cookey levelled in stoppage time.

Both sides had chances to win it in the second period, but it ended all square.

Bari play host to Hullbridge on Tuesday.

Newham 0 Haringey Borough 1

Newham held out until the 81st minute against the leaders in a morning kick-off at the Old Spotted Dog.

But Darrell Cox then converted from the penalty spot to leave Haringey needing five points from their last four matches to be crowned champions.

Sawbridgeworth 4 Tower Hamlets 1

Tower Hamlets dropped to 16th place after defeat at Crofters End.

Dan Debley, Joe Rickett, Tom Jelliman and Charlie Coe were all on target for Sawbo, before Kobie Ambrose claimed a late consolation for the visitors.

Sporting Bengal 0 Bowers 0

Battling Sporting Bengal held title hopefuls Bowers to a goalless draw at Mile End Stadium.

Beaten 6-1 when the sides met in December, bottom club Bengal were 61 points behind third-placed Bowers at the start.

But they denied the visitors throughout and have now taken eight points from a possible 15 in recent weeks, having beaten Stansted and Hullbridge.

Bengal travel to Broxbourne Borough to take on Eton Manor on Wednesday.

Fixtures, Tuesday: London Bari v Hullbridge; Takeley v Ilford.

Wednesday: Eton Manor v Sporting Bengal; London Bari v Basildon; Tower Hamlets v Bowers.

Thursday, GBT semi-finals: Barking v Takeley; Clapton v Haringey Boro.
