Draws made for early rounds of FA competitions

Local non-league clubs have learned their FA Cup fates today.

Essex Senior League outfits will be in extra preliminary round action on August 16, with Clapton hosting Bowers, while Sporting Bengal entertain FC Clacton – having lost 3-1 on the Essex coast last season.

Ilford welcome Saffron Walden to Cricklefield Stadium, while Tower Hamlets are at home against Felixstowe & Walton, but Barking must travel to Haverhill.

Preliminary round ties take place two weeks later on August 31, with Barkingside set to host the winner of the tie between Wivenhoe and Enfield.

If successful in their earlier ties, Tower Hamlets will visit Ware, Sporting Bengal will travel to Takeley or London Tigers, while Clapton will host Colney Heath or Southend Manor.

Ilford’s reward, if they beat Saffron Walden, will be another home tie against Welwyn Garden City or Hadley, while Barking will travel again to Whitton United or Eton Manor if they beat Haverhill.

Redbridge face a home tie against Sudbury, but Romford must travel to Halstead or St Margaretsbury.

Hornchurch enter the competition in the first qualifying round on September 13 and face a home tie against East Thurrock, having beaten them in a replay last season.

The draw for the first qualifying round of the FA Vase pitted Barking against Stanway Rovers at Mayesbrook Park on September 6, while Sporting Bengal visit Baldock Town.

If successful in those matches, Barking will host FC Clacton on October 4, while Sporting Bengal have a home tie against Long Melford.

Clapton visit Welwyn Garden City, Ilford travel to Hatfield Town or Hertford Town and London Bari visit Basildon United or Haverhill Borough.

The FA Trophy preliminary round draw handed Romford a home tie against Uxbridge, while Redbridge entertain Whyteleafe at Oakside on October 18.

If successful, Romford will host Hythe Town or Maldon in the next round, while Redbridge’s reward would be a home tie against Dunstable Town.

Barkingside welcome Kingstonian to Cricklefield, while Hornchurch host Harrow.
