Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett has confirmed Patrick Agyemang has returned to parent club Portsmouth.

The Victoria Road boss revealed to the Post yesterday, when discussing Alex Jakubiak and Ayo Obileye’s loan extensions, that the 34-year-old had gone back to Fratton Park after his loan ended following Saturday’s 1-0 win against Bury.

The former Preston North End and Queens Park Rangers forward featured four times for Burnett after signing on November 27.

He made his debut as a late substitute during the 2-0 win against the Shakers on November 29 at Gigg Lane before making his first start in the home loss to Tranmere Rovers two weeks later.

Agyemang made his last appearance for the club in the Boxing Day defeat to Stevenage at Victoria Road.

He started the match, but was replaced in the 72nd minute for Jakubiak, a decision that was ironically cheered by some of the home supporters.

Burnett had decided not to include Agyemang in Daggers’ last two match day squads against Southend United and Bury and the forward has now returned to Portsmouth.
