Former Dagenham & Redbridge loanee Luke Norris has a big summer ahead of him after he was offered a new deal at Brentford.
The 20-year-old scored 10 goals in 34 games in the Football League in two loan spells at Northampton Town and Daggers over the course of the campaign.
Norris had predicted a season of under-21 football at the Bees, but the youngster has been pleased with how it has gone.
“Before the season started I was just going to be playing under-21 football so if someone had said to me you would get 10 professional goals this season I would have snapped your hand off,” said Norris, whose loan spell ended after picking up an ankle injury against Northampton last weekend.
“It’s a good stepping stone for me and now I can hope for a full season in the Football League and improve on it.”
Norris has been offered a new deal with the Bees, but with their promotion to the Championship, first-team opportunities may remain slim.
The Daggers loanee is contemplating the offer, but first and foremost he would love to be playing first-team football next season.
“I have spoken to Brentford and I know that they have offered me something but we’ll just have to wait and see,” he added.
“First-team football is all you want to do as a young player and I think the more games that I can play, the more experience I can get playing week in week out in the Football League I think it will massively make me improve as a player.
“My contract is up this year, so it’s quite a big summer for me so I’ll have to sit down and see what suits me best.”
