Carmarthen Town boss Mark Aizlewood believes Christian Doidge has the potential to go all the way to top after signing for Dagenham & Redbridge.

The 21-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Daggers today, subject to international clearance.

And having worked with the former Bristol Rovers youngster, Aizlewood feels he has the talent to go all the way in the game.

“From the first time I saw him play I was convinced that we could turn him into a Football League player. Once we brought him to Richmond Park we worked on him. His attitude has been first-class and he has wanted to learn all the time.”

“Without doubt Christian Doidge is the finest footballer I have ever seen in the air and that is from the International level downwards. He has the potential to go all the way to the very top.”

And Carmarthen Town chairman Jeff Thomas believes Doidge’s hard work and determination has seen him flourish, with a number of clubs said to have expressed an interest in the striker.

“We have had a number of Football League club scouts looking at Christian over the past twelve months with five of the clubs expressing an interest,” said Thomas.

“As a club we pride ourselves on being able to develop players, not only to play in the Welsh Premier League but also for them to go onwards and upwards to higher things.”

“Christian has been a prime example of this philosophy. He worked hard under the guidance of our coaching staff and his raw talent saw him develop into a fine player. We all wish him well with his new challenge.”
