Loan star Ashley signs permanent deal

Ashley Chambers has put pen to paper on a permanent two-year deal at Victoria Road after a brief loan spell from newly-promoted Cambridge United towards the end of last season.

The 24-year-old made an instant impact in his first appearance for the club when he came on as a substitute against Exeter City and secured his first assist, setting up loanee Luke Norris to score.

During his initial stint at the Daggers, the winger made six appearances before being recalled early to support the U’s promotion push.

Before joining Cambridge in January 2014, he was a long servant of York City, racking up 140 appearances. He was also named the top goalscorer for the Minstermen in the 2012-13 season, scoring 10 goals in 42 appearances.
