Daggers 21st position in League Two table is false according to attacker

Ashley Chambers is hoping a good performance at Bury will reward Dagenham & Redbridge with another win.

He believes they have put in several impressive displays this season but not got the points they deserve.

They put that right against Carlisle United last weekend, with the 24-year-old netting twice during the 4-2 success to put an end to a run of seven matches with a win.

Wayne Burnett’s side make the trip to Greater Manchester to face Bury tomorrow (Saturday), and the hero from last Saturday is aiming to show Daggers league position is false.

“We tend to put in some good away performances but, again, not come away with the results we have quite deserved,” said Chambers.

“Hopefully we can go there, off the back of the result against Carlisle, and show them what we are about.

“We want to show them that the league position we are in is a bit false and just because we haven’t picked up enough wins, but hopefully that can turn against Bury.”

Daggers staff and players have always maintained an air of confidence despite the recent poor run of results.

But Chambers concedes it will be nice to go into the match at Gigg Lane with added belief after their success at Victoria Road last weekend.

He added: “It is nice to go into a game against Bury with a bit of confidence because they are obviously flying.

“We will go there, try to give a good account of ourselves and try to get the three points.”
