Daggers made it two consecutive wins and ended Dover’s ten game undefeated run thanks to a first-half goal from attacker Morgan Ferrier at Victoria Road.

They moved up to fifth place in the National League and knocked Chris Kinnear’s men off the top.

“Excellent performance, two outstanding displays in terms of the character from where we went 2-0 down on Saturday against Guiseley, there has been a real determination in the boys and they’ve all stood and been counted, which has been really evident to me.”

The assistant praised his side’s efforts in a tricky contest against one of the league’s in-form outfits.

“It was not the most prettiest of games, where we could play some football, but certainly a game that we had to fight and compete and win individual battles all over the pitch,” Currie said.

“The eleven that started were excellent.

“I think every player deserves a lot of credit for the way they’ve played in the last two games.”

Currie is pleased to see Ferrier score in back-to-back games and was over the moon about the way the goal was created as well.

“The two goals that Morgan has scored were fantastic goals, his goal was from a worthy cross and a worthy header, and a fantastic throw out from Mark which set it up.

“I mean its counter-attacking football at it’s absolute best.

“To see Morgan score the winner and the way he has performed again is just very pleasing for him and very pleasing for all of us.”

Goalkeeper Mark Cousins made his 100th appearance for the club and Currie believes it was one to remember for the shot-stopper.

“100th appearance was certainly something to remember, he made a save very early on that I thought was in, that he plucked out of the top corner and then he went on to make another two or three, and then his contribution to the goal, so he was outstanding.”
