Daggers fan Daniel Law is writing a blog during the 2015-16 season

Things are starting to look quite bleak for Daggers ahead of their trip to Mansfield Town this weekend. Fans are turning on the players, while opposition players are turning past Dagenham’s defence too often.

Since watching Daggers, I don’t think the morale of the supporters and players has ever been so low. In previous campaigns, a change in systems or personnel would lead to a change in fortunes. However, this season has seen Daggers failing to adapt to life without Abu Ogogo and Billy Bingham, who did everything you could ever want from a midfield pair – protecting the defence, helping out in attack and linking the two together.

The presence of Scott Doe has also been missed this season, with a newly formed and ever-changing defence leading to Dagenham conceding 54 league goals. That’s only five less than they did in the whole of last season and with 16 games left, I dread to think how many more we’ll see fly past Mark Cousins or Liam O’Brien!

John Still described last weekend’s defeat against Barnet as the worst display he’s seen since coming back to the club and few would disagree. Daggers created no clear cut chances and the midfield was once again missing at times, with Andre Boucaud particularly culpable.

Next up for Daggers is a trip to Nottinghamshire and Field Mill to take on a Stags side that currently occupy the final play-off spot in seventh place. Adam Murray’s men won 4-3 at Victoria Road earlier in the season – a game in which the home side were 3-1 up!

With York City winning 2-0 on Tuesday against Exeter City, the Minstermen have exited the relegation zone, leaving Daggers six points adrift of safety!

Make or break this week for Daggers three points needed!
