Daggers man set to miss next two games because of international duty

Andre Boucaud will definitely miss Dagenham & Redbridge’s next two matches after being called-up to the Trinidad & Tobago squad for their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Costa Rica and Honduras.

The Soca Warriors host Costa Rica at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain this Friday, before making the trip to San Perdo Sula to face Honduras at the Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano on Tuesday.

It means Boucaud will not be a part of the Essex club’s squad to play Gateshead in the National League on Saturday, nor visit The Shay next Tuesday for their FA Cup first round replay with Halifax Town of the National League North.

The 32-year-old has missed already four National League games this season because of international duty, with the Victoria Road side winning just one of those and losing the other three, scoring just the once.

Boucaud’s absence could see Scott Heard make his first start against the Heed this weekend, though there may also be a case for impressive teenager Tyrique Hyde to fill the hole in midfield.
