Current Posh chairman discussed possibility of investing in National League club on Twitter on Monday

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has declared an interest in investing in Dagenham & Redbridge.

National League side Daggers are currently looking for new investor after former director Glyn Hopkin ceased funding the Essex club.

Posh chairman MacAnthony was approached by Daggers supporter Darren Rogers on Twitter, who simply asked for a retweet to help publicise the home clash with Chester on Saturday.

Intrigued, MacAnthony asked for further information about the Victoria Road outfit’s current plight.

Quoting a later tweet from Rogers explaining Daggers’ situation, MacAnthony posted: “Great club with such pedigree for lower league talent recruitment. Be happy to take a look at it yep. So if you know anybody have them email all info to look it.”

Daggers have long had good links with Peterborough, with the likes of Craig Mackail-Smith, Scott Griffiths, Shane Blackett and Dwight Gayle among those to have swapped Victoria Road for London Road in recent years.
