George Sessions provides player ratings following the 2-1 defeat at Victoria Road.

Dagenham & Redbridge were beaten yesterday evening when Exeter struck twice in the final ten minutes of the game to wipe out the lead Jamie Cureton had given to Wayne Burnett’s side in the first half.

Check out our scores below and let us know if you agree.

Mark Cousins (7) – A solid performance from the former Colchester United keeper, he commanded his area well and made some important blocks. No chance with penalty but did get hand to second.

Damian Batt (7) – Excellent going forward, particularly in the first half as he provided Daggers with a great outlet. Some sloppiness in the second period but decent display.

Brian Saah (7) – A strong display by experienced central defender and he made numerous vital blocks and interventions during the game, in particular a vital block at the end of the first half.

Matt Partridge (6) – The youngster has looked very assured in recent weeks but struggled yesterday evening against the Exeter forward line. He showed naivety for the penalty decision.

Jack Connors (7) – One major scare in the first half with ball at his feet but another strong performance from left-back and very intelligent with his passing.

Ashley Hemmings (6) – The winger returned to the starting team but failed to have a major influence on the game. Always felt on the edge of the action.

Abu Ogogo (7) – The skipper covered great ground and was prominent in the first half with his pressing. Harsh to earn a booking but impressive performance.

Joss Labadie (7) – Outstanding in the opening 45 minute as his direct running from midfielder caused Exeter lots of problems. He seemed to tire in second period.

Andre Boucaud (6) – Midfielder was sloppy at times and didn’t look his usual self throughout the game, only showed patches of his class.

Ashley Chambers (7) – Another consistent performance from the attacker. Unlucky not to score a superb goal and could easily have provided a goal with some decent set pieces.

Jamie Cureton (7) – A mixed day at the office for the experienced forward. Although he scored an exceptional goal, missed a couple of great chances.

Substitutes:

George Porter, for Ashley Hemmings 73. (6) – Attacker couldn’t have a major influence on the match.

Christian Doidge, for Andre Boucaud 82. (6) – Little time to have an impact but did produce one neat turn and shot, that went over. Positive cameo.

Not used: O’Brien, Doe, Green, Goldberg, Yusuff.
