Barrow boss Ian Evatt feels his side squandered several goalscoring opportunities in their 1-0 defeat at home to Dagenham & Redbridge in the Vanarama National League.

A strike in the final minute of the match from Elliott Romain handed Peter Taylor’s Daggers all three points at Holker Street.

At the other end, it was another Elliot who performed well as keeper Justham pulled off a string of great saves to keep the visitors level before Romain’s winner.

The Daggers custodian turned in perhaps his greatest display of the season so far to keep the Bluebirds at bay and record a third clean sheet in succession.

But rather than praise Justham for his display, Barrow manager Evatt instead opted to slam his own team’s shortcomings in front of goal.

“We had two or three one-on-ones where you cannot not score,” the former Queens Park Rangers defender told the Barrow website.

“We have to start taking those chances and to lose the game is a travesty and it’s not good enough.”
