Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett was delighted for Ade Yusuff after the forward came off the bench to inspire a 2-1 victory at Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

Yusuff, who only joined the club in September from non-league Chatham Town, scored his first two goals for the club at the Crown Ground to give Daggers a vital win.

Burnett praised the forward’s display and was pleased with the performance from his team.

“It was brilliant, absolutely brilliant,” said the Daggers manager on Yusuff’s impact.

“He is still learning but when you have power and pace and you have got them attributes you are always going to trouble teams.

“We stretched them a little more in the second half and Yusuff’s pace enabled us to get up the pitch a little bit better.

“I am delighted for him, he is a good kid.”

Daggers goalkeeper Mark Cousins was also forced to pull off two impressive saves to preserve the lead against Stanley and Burnett was happy with his performance.

He also revealed how tough it was to select a team on Saturday but was pleased it paid off in the end.

Burnett added: “Mark has done very well again with two very good saves.

“He has kept us, well he has not kept us in the game but maintained that we have managed to keep hold of the three points so really pleased about that.

“I changed the team about 12 times in the 48 hours leading up to the match but we had a game plan and changed our shape slightly and it has worked.”
