Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett was pleased with the business the club carried out on the final day of the emergency loan window last week.

Patrick Agyemang, Alex Jakubiak and Joe Widdowson all moved to Victoria Road, with Nathan Green linking up with Conference South outfit St Albans City on a month-loan.

Agyemang and Jakubiak made their debuts during the excellent 2-0 success against Bury, with the latter netting the opening goal at Gigg Lane.

The 18-year-old Watford forward impressed the Daggers boss and will remain with the club until the end of the month.

“I was very pleased with the business I got done,” said Burnett.

“It was very pleasing to see Alex score his first goal. We asked him to do a job for us and he did.”

Burnett hopes the addition of Agyemang will provide him with a different option up top.

The burly Portsmouth forward has failed to find the net in 11 appearances this campaign, but Burnett is happy to have him until January 3.

“Patrick is a presence and understands the game well,” added Burnett.

“When you put the ball up to him it sticks and that allows us to move higher up the pitch.

“It will allow us to take the pressure off our back four at times and he is something different to what we have got at the club.”

Widdowson has moved down from Bury until January 4, but was ineligible to play in Daggers’ 2-0 win over the Shakers at the weekend.

The 25-year-old will now provide Ashley Hemmings and Jack Connors with competition on the left-side of defence.

But Burnett praised the recent efforts of Hemmings, adding: “Ashley has done brilliantly at wing-back. He has worked really hard and done well for us.

“Joe is very experienced and has played at this level before. He will provide us with good options in defence.”
