Dagenham & Redbridge boss Still makes striker first permanent signing of third spell

Dagenham & Redbridge have signed Olvier Hawkins from Hemel Hempstead Town for an undisclosed fee.

The striker moves to Victoria Road on a two-and-a-half year contract after scoring eight goals for the Tudors in the National League South this season.

Hawkins becomes the first permanent signing of John Still’s third spell as Daggers boss, having made three loan signings since returning to the role earlier this month.

And Still revealed he had been tracking the 23-year-old even during his spell in charge of Luton Town earlier this season.

“Ollie is a player we have watched for some time. Everyone who saw him was impressed,” Still told the club website. “I decided I would try and sign him in this transfer window and the fact that I changed clubs is Dagenham and Redbridge’s gain.”

Hawkins could well make his debut when Daggers take on Northampton Town tomorrow
