Daggers could face away trip to Southport in FA Cup

Dagenham & Redbridge could potentially face an away tie against National League North side Southport in the first round of the FA Cup.

Daggers drew 2-2 in their fourth qualifying tie against National League rivals Boreham Wood thanks to two stoppage time goals from Tomi Adeloye and Luke Pennell to earn them a replay.

The two sides are set to play the replay tomorrow evening at Victoria Road to determine who will go through in the prestigious cup competition.

The FA Cup first round will put 32 non-league side’s up against the 48 teams currently competing in League One and League Two with £36,000 in prize money up for grabs.

The game is due to be played on the weekend of November, 10.

Daggers crashed out in the fourth qualifying round of the cup competition last term as they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to east London rivals Leyton Orient thanks to a Macauley Bonne goal.
