Dagenham & Redbridge have announced the signing of forward Noel Leighton after his release from Championship side Millwall.

The Lions released Leighton at the end of the 2017/18 season, having been a product of their academy and signed a professional contract at Millwall at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

The 19-year-old forward was a regular in Kevin Nugent’s under-23 side and was tagged as an exciting prospect by the South London club.

The young forward joins the club on a deal until the end of the season and will be available to play in this weekend’s away game at the Shay, where the Daggers face FC Halifax Town.

Daggers boss Peter Taylor said: “Noel has been training with us for a few days and I’ve really liked what we’ve seen from him on the training ground.

“He’s another young player that has a lot of promise, so we have added him to our squad.”
