Dagenham & Redbridge manager Peter Taylor slammed Elliot Justham for giving away an early goal in their 2-2 draw against Boreham Wood in the FA Cup.

Two stoppage-time goals from Tomi Adeloye and Luke Pennell salvaged the fourth qualifying round tie for the Daggers at Meadow Park.

But Taylor insisted despite their comeback that it was a poor start to the match as Justham gave away a penalty in the 14th minute.

“If the goalkeeper gives a penalty away what can you do about it, so you can’t look at the boys and say it’s a slow start, Elliot has held his hands that he made a bad mistake.

“The first goal we gave away was a poor goal, it was a long through ball, and Elliot has brought the fella down so it’s a penalty and a cheap goal really.”

Before adding: “Full credit to the players as I thought they tried to get the goals, but I thought they did tried to do it in a way where they had to be a bit braver on the ball.”
