Dagenham & Redbridge manager Peter Taylor says his side desperately need a win after failing to win in their opening six National League fixtures.
Daggers travel away to Barnet this afternoon in a bid to get their first win on the board against former long-serving manager John Still and plenty of familiar faces.
Boss Taylor is pleased they have another match so quick after losing 1-2 to Hartlepool United at Victoria Road on Saturday.
“That’s a good thing that there is a game so quickly now because sometimes you have to wait too long to try and get it back,” the 65-year-old said.
“We need a win, we haven’t got one, we’re in a bad position but we’ve got to keep fighting.”
The former England caretaker says it doesn’t matter that it is Barnet who have a handful of former Daggers in their squad and that they just need a win whoever the opposition.
“We need a win so it doesn’t matter who we’re playing in the next game so what we’ve got to try do is play like we did in the first-half for 90 minutes on Monday.”
The boss is also hoping for striker Tomi Adeloye and Eliot Romain to keep building a strong partnership after impressing in the first-half of the Hartlepool match.
But he did admit they can’t then slip in the second-half like they did in that recent defeat.
“I was pleased with them for 45 minutes, but not in the second-half as they were the same as everyone else on the pitch, so it didn’t look as good second-half.
“As I say first-half I couldn’t ask for more, I was delighted with it, and that’s the sort of thing I’m expecting from the players all the time.”
